Reunions and other things.

Let's see. Friday night Lerryn and I have a visit from L. who we hadn't seen in about 2 years. Good friend of Lerryn's from college, and someone I'd like to have more than a few hours every couple years to talk with. She had fun telling us about CA, her current job, and how she's not comfortable talking with most of the folks she knows in CA about various topics. We both insisted she really needed to get an lj, and that there are several people she either needs to meet or spend more time talking with. People like Sar, Tylik, Runnerwolf, Tshar, heck most of our friends in general.

Saturday morning Lerryn and I called around to various car places, and looked up different vehicles online. I had a long talk with my dad, who tried to persuade me that Saturns only appeal to single mid-twenties females and nerds. I dryly commented that this explained a lot about why their vehicles appeal to me. At this point my dad kinda gave up. He forgets that I am not as knowledgeable about cars as he is, nor am I some incredibly skilled driver.

Spent the evening with Tshar, mostly having various interesting conversations, during one of which I was informed I'd make a wonderful necromancer (long story). And we worked on a tiger puzzle of mine, which got wrapped up in a puzzle mat that Sar gave me a long time ago.

Sunday was getting the laundry done with Lerryn, and discovering one of the dryer did a crappy job of drying. Discovered this with just enough time to hang the clothes up to drip dry before heading out the door. Spent that evening hanging out with Sar and Runnerwolf. *purr* Interesting philosophical debates, mostly inspired by the dreamingclaw thread about intent versus action. Also had some nice snuggle time, though as usual not as much time as I would've liked.

Sunday was also the day Lerryn and I finally got around to checking out snailmail. And I discovered a wonderful surprise. My friend, Lisabeth, who I'd lost contact with a couple years ago, sent us a Christmas card. Inside was a picture of her baby boy, and a letter explaining why she dropped off the face of the earth. Very happy to have heard from her again. We've known each other since the 7th grade, and been good friends for about that long. I still need to come out to her as poly and bi, and had been planning on doing so when we lost contact. May wait on that a while longer after reestablishing contact, but I"m still debating it.

Today's been more than a little crazy too. I received a call from our new boss. She sounds like a nice person, but we'll see. Ran out to the local Social Security office. That was in a not very nice part of town, and I was rather nervous, but got the paperwork turned in to get my married name on my social security card. Also heard form Lerryn, and it looks like we'll be checking out a 2000 Saturn SL2 this evening after work. If it seems like a good car, i may be getting a new car this evening.

Beyond that, looking forward to New Year's, feeling a bit worried about changes in my office, and feeling like my life has shifted to fast forward again.
