Tempting idea...
I've been browsing through journals of friends of friends, and I keep running across this odd acronym NaNoWriMo. I finally went and looked at the community set up for this, and glanced briefly at the web page. National Novel Writing Month. The whole thing is about output, writing a 50,000 word novel inside of a month. It's not about quality, it's about just seeing if you can write that much in that brief a period.
So why am I tempted by this? Mostly because I have a fair amount of spare time on my hands here at work. I've even got a book I started ages ago. (Who hasn't?) Just the thought of getting it all written out, no worries about it being as polished and wonderful as some of the authors I look up to (published and not), holds definite appeal. I'm curious how I'd write it differently, being 26 instead of 13.
I haven't decided yet if I'll do this, but I wanted to share the idea and see what it might spark for other folks I know. :)

Exactly, plus I've got more ideas about how to write about things. Knowledge gathered from having read many more books, and a lot more life experience.
