Sushi suggestions?

Hi all,

It is getting to be that time of year when I really start craving sushi. I'd highly appreciate any suggestions about where to find really good sushi. Preferrably in or near Redmond, and yes I already know about Todai. They have good sushi, but not the best selection all the time, and rather expensive for not being able to get exactly what I want.

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

If you can take the smoke :P Their happy hour sushi is really cheap, too.

Rikki Rikki's in Kirkland is excellent.

I Love Sushi in Bellevue has good prices on lunches (check out their Chirasizushi, if you haven't before).

And of course Musashi's on 45th in in Wallingford kicks everyone's ass for less money.

Oh, and if Tom, who was Shiro's (who used to be the head chef at Niko's, but now has his own place in Belletown) is still at I Love Sushi in Bellevue, he's tops.

Otherwise... there's a Japanese woman, maybe in her forties or fifties at Rikki Rikki who's really good. Oh, and Rikki Rikki also has a Sushi Happy Hour... which I'm a little suspicious of, on general principle, but was good when I was there.

Ditto on the Belltown locations. Ah, how I miss Shiro's... but I've found some worthwhile places down here.

Smoke? Huh. I don't remember there being any smoke at all when we were there.

Maybe a time of day thing? I've only been there late evenings. And I still had fun, which is saying a lot for a place I can't escape the smoke.

[livejournal.com profile] stolen_tea and I were there around 11 last night. We specifically asked for non-smoking and were put in the back section, away from the "lounge", which was somewhat smoky and filled with trendy yuppies. So location makes a difference, and it being a Tuesday- rather than, say, Friday- may have helped.
