Apr. 18th, 2002 04:05 pmToday's been an interesting day, not great, but mostly okay.
I didn't get to sleep until way late last night. But this was a good and happy thing, except for needing to be awake at 6:30am to get to work on time. I decided it would be better to call in that I was going to be late, and sleep some more. I did so, planning on being in by 10am. *sigh* Well, the 9:20am bus failed to arrive at the bus stop, ditto the 9:50am bus. The bus finally showed up at 10:05am, which meant I didn't get to work til 10:45am. Grr. Fortunately, my boss was okay with it. She knows how crazy the buses can be.
Then, later this afternoon I got ticked with one of my otherloves. Not a huge deal, other than I hate getting angry. Mostly it was a misunderstanding about our date night getting scheduled over, and it being the only one we have that week. We'll see about either rescheduling our date night for a different day that week or seeing if he can reschedule the other event. (*sigh* Scheduling is a necessary evil of being responsibly poly, but when you're dating several people, and your partner is dating several people, it's just that much worse.)
Other than that, I ran across a book yesterday that i'm having the darndest time putting down. It's called Kushiel's Dart, by Jacqueline Carey. It's an incredible and complex story, and the main character is fascinating. However, if you are seriously squicked by kink, I wouldn't recommend reading it. The main character is a submissive and a masochist, an anguisette in the terminology of the book. There's a couple folks I know that I think would really enjoy this book. My only concern is if I'd ever get my copy back from them, if I lent it to them. ;)
One other good thing. I went to the Elephant and Castle that's near my workplace, and had a wonderfully yummy dessert. It's a fondue, chocolate fudge, and you're given several strawberries and large pieces of brownie to dip in the fudge. It's nice indulging myself every once in a while. :)
