All in all, this weekend went fairly well. I'm still not 100% over the tonsilitis, but feeling much better than I did.

Folklife went amazingly well. Yes, the crowds did get to me a bit, and yes I needed some time to rest and recover afterwards. However, I didn't react as poorly as I'd feared, and I actually had a pretty good time. I ended up spending most of the time showing [livejournal.com profile] sar_anon and Sar's folks and [livejournal.com profile] runnerwolf around Folklife. [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan was also there with her kids, though we ended up separated from them and from [livejournal.com profile] lerryn most of the time. We ran into a bunch of folks while there, [livejournal.com profile] ocicat and [Bad username or site: the _tiger @ livejournal.com], [livejournal.com profile] corivax, and [livejournal.com profile] dymaxion and probably other lj users who I didn't recognize.

Let's see, other highlights from Folklife... Listening to Sar's folks exclaiming over the mix of people there at Folklife, checking out the instruments room where [livejournal.com profile] runnerwolf found an awesome hand-carved flute that she had to have, damiana_swan's older daughter drooling over a dragon-headed violin with a ghastly price tag, re-finding [livejournal.com profile] lerryn and him showing me a booth with dark chocolate-dipped strawberries, managing to deal with a very crowded area full of booths where Sar and runnerwolf and I were drooling over clothing, runnerwolf finding an authentic despacho cloth in a different booth in that area... Just, too many sights and smells and sounds to try and record here.

Afterwards, Sar and I had dinner with Sar's folks. It was really cool getting to talk with Sar's mom about her work, and just visiting with her in general is fun.

Later that evening, there were some arguments over scheduling stuff for Sunday. I won't go into those, other than to say that those arguments and the patterns of how they affect my relationship with runnerwolf made me decide not to join Sar and dymaxion on Sunday. Instead, I stayed over at runnerwolf's place and talked with her about a lot of things we needed to get clear between us. It went well, and I think the relationship between her and I is healthier for the talking. I know I made the choice that was best for me at the time, but I'm still curious about how visiting corvi and going to Compline went.

Yesterday, lerryn and I ended up staying home and just vegging. We were going to go back to Folklife for a few hours, but lerryn decided he was a bit too tired. So, that was my weekend. Fascinating, i'm sure. ;)
