...that I *really* like my life? =)

Friday evening I got together with [livejournal.com profile] damiana_swan, and we dropped off one of her daughters' friends, then wandered over to get some dinner. It was very fun to just sit and talk. Honestly, I think she's become the female friend I'm most likely to just sit around and kvetch with, which is definitely a happy thing. We got back to her place and I was getting teased a lot by her daughters about being there more than one of their housemates. I protested that couldn't be true, because I don't sleep there all that often. The older one grumbled that they at least see me more often. Though she explained it's not that they want me around less, just they want him to be around more.

Damiana_swan is a goddess with a digital camera. She managed to not only take some pictures of me I'd describe as very good, there was one that I titled, "Just gorgeous" when I saved it to my harddrive. 'Course, I was fairly amused by [livejournal.com profile] lerryn's comment that he didn't recognize the picture as being one of me. *pout, pout* *grin* S'ok, he was very tolerant of my getting home by 12:30am, and then staying up until 2am trying to figure out how to crop and adjust the pictures properly for my personal ad. I do intend to adjust some as new lj icons, but I needed sleep more than I needed to put new pictures on here.

I usually don't let my vanity play like that, unless I'm dressing up for a party or something similar, but that was a lot of fun. Both her daughters were also delighted with the picture-taking, and joined in getting dressed up and posing a bit. There's a few pictures of her older daughter playing her violin that were just incredible. Glimpses of the woman she's growing up to be, definitely someone to be reckoned with. :)

Saturday, Lerryn and I went out to breakfast, and had an amusing conversation where I asked him how he would describe my personality. That's one of the sections on the personals site I haven't filled out yet, and figured who better to try and describe my personality the way a friend would than my husband? Much laughter and teasing over that conversation, and a lot of insights into how I'm looked at that I wasn't quite aware of before.

Saturday afternoon and evening was spent with [livejournal.com profile] tshar. I kept him company while he was doing his house detail, and helpfully pointed out spots he missed while cleaning. *angelic innocent look* OK, so I was being a brat, but he didn't seem to mind. We then took a long walk over to the park, and talked about everything and nothing. *happy sigh* Long, aimless conversations are truly one of the finer things in life. We wandered back when sutset hit, and grabbed some dinner. Lots of discussion over dinner about his plans for schooling and future career ambitions. As I commented to him, one of the things that I find most amazing about him is I've never heard him mention an option or possible path and accompany it with the words, "I can't." He talks about various merits and drawbacks to particular paths, mentions when one wouldn't be as workable, or if one isn't quite where he wants to go right now, but does not say, "I can't."

When it comes to my life, I don't have that much drive nor ambition. At least, not with direct work/career stuff. My passions are tied up in relating to the people in my life.

Later on, we watched the movie Princess Mononoke. Just... wow. It makes Escaflowne look drab, and I thought Escaflowne was the most gorgeous anime I'd ever seen. Though, I was a bit disturbed by the little tree spirits. It's just not right to have little white creatures whose heads make the same noise as a toy I had as a baby in the crib. If you haven't seen it, I can't describe it, if you have, i just did. Plus, I'm sorry, those are *not* how I see tree spirits. Oh, well, artistic license. Beyond that, I loved the message in the movie. I was enthralled by there being no direct bad guys or good guys, that each character had some kind of complex motivations going on, and that those came through. I will have to watch it again sometime.

Sunday I again slept in quite late. 12 hours of sleep both nights this weekend, I'm spoiled. =) Lerryn joined us for gaming, and we managed to finish another section of the current adventure. This was definitely a good thing, and I'm glad for the drop-ins of bad guys. They made acquiring the item a lot easier than it otherwise would've been. Plus, Lerryn's been reminding me of what my character can and cannot do, which has helped my character be more useful to the group in general. Nice to not be on autopilot.

We had a wonderful evening together after gaming, and we've finally ordered our tickets for the Oct. 11's Gaia Consort/Uffington Horse concert. That's just going to be a blast! =) Hmm, wonder which songs Chris'll forget the words to this time. ;)

Beyond that, got email from some friends who were talking about inviting me over for a visit again soon. *happy grin* Didn't realize I'd made that good of an impression, but then I tend to underestimate that a lot. Looking forward to the rest of my week, which hopefully will include finally finding out *which* 2 bedroom apartment we'll be getting at Eagle Pointe. I keep meaning to call, and keep getting side-tracked. Oh well, busy busy.

*glow* Those are some of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten. You've probably noticed that you've also become the female friend I'm likeliest to sit and kvetch with, and you're also one of the few people I really feel comfortable confiding in.

I'm glad you like the pictures! (I think I need to do more photography like that--it was an awful lot of fun. :-D)

*grin* Cool.

I do, and agreed. Though I think my vanity will go slink back into its cave for a bit. ;) S'ok, you've got other possible subjects wandering around for photography. :)

If you liked Princess Mononoke, I would suggest Spirited Away while it's in theatres. I thought it was better and it's also by Miyazaki...

I've heard good things about it. I'll have to see which theaters it is playing in near me.
