Packages.

When I went home for lunch this afternoon, I had two different packages delivered to our house. One is the Vita-Mix blender that I splurged on. I call it a splurge because it was a pretty significant expenditure for me. However, I bought it with the intent of improving my diet. Eating enough fruits and veggies keeps being a consistent challenge for me. But, I've found that *drinking* enough fruits and veggies seems to both be a lot easier, and something that my body craves.

The other, far more monetarily modest purchase, is Five Glasses of Absinthe, a comic by Nick Brienza and Egypt Urnash. I'm delighted to have this in dead-tree format. While I've been enjoying the comic online, I think I'll be able to get a lot more out of both the dialogue and the artwork in book format. Plus, I like having a copy I can re-read without having to be online. Warning if you go looking for this, it is very NSFW. Still, I'm looking forward to continuing to follow the story and see where it goes from here.

Oh. At a glance, I thought you'd just had some Absinthe delivered. I was going to ask when I should come over...

*grin* I'm unlikely to ever order Absinthe, the drink. I can't stand the taste of black licorice/anise, and the thought of trying to drink something with that as the predominant flavor triggers my gag reflex. :P

Glee! Thanks so much for the support, darlin'! And for the reminder to break my damn juicer out of the box and dust it off. :)

Hey, if you happen to be at Foolscap by any chance, look for "Egypt" (or, ahem, "Peggy" :) ) and get her to sign your book!

Cool! Um, honestly, I'm not sure I know what "Egypt/Peggy" looks like. We've never met in person, and I couldn't find her listed for any of the panels on Foolscap's website...

I hadn't been planning on going to Foolscap, but after looking through their website I'm definitely tempted to go for at least one day. Con art shows are dangerous, but fun, and I know some of the panelists. Plus, this con is so close by it'd be almost criminal not to stop in. :)

What brings Peggy to Foolscap?

Oh! She might be listed as Margaret Trauth. She dresses like a crazy aunt and has bright orange-red hair not quite to her shoulders. Trust me, that should be all you need to pick her out of a crowd. :) Do you know Jason Wodicka? Seattleite, pretty active in fandom, does a lot of puzzling and gaming events? He's a friend of ours who dragged her out there for Foolscap to peddle art. :)
