For your reading pleasure, Hal Duncan's excellent and erudite reply to John C. Wright's FAILrant against homosexuals. Even if you don't know the original appalling post being replied to, I consider this a worthwhile read, especially with the points made about ethics versus morality. (And Hal Duncan's use of language absolutely made me swoon. I think I need to find some of his books to read.)

Truly. I hadn't heard of him before this either, but various people on my friends list have been posting about their replies to him. Today saw a slew of links to Hal Duncan's reply, and once I finally read it, I agreed that Hal's reply deserved a wider audience. :)

What I really don't understand about John C. Wright -- whose wife did her own little RaceFail meltdown at a WorldCon panel quite recently -- is why, having named his firstborn son "Orville" (according to his Wikipedia entry), he didn't just go on and name the second Wright boy "Wilbur."
